Register for ICA Pediatric Council’s First Seminar on Pediatrics and Pregnancy in Dublin, Ireland, July 15-16, 2005

The ICA Pediatric Council’s seminar on “Chiropractic, Pediatrics and Pregnancy” to be held July 15-16 at the Berkeley Court Hotel in Dublin, Ireland, will be 16-hours of intensive learning and an educational experience that no doctor who cares for, or is interested in caring for infants, children or pregnant women should miss.

“This is the ICA Pediatric Council’s first seminar to be held outside North America,” said Dr. Lora Tanis, chair of the ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, “and we thank the Chiropractic Association of Ireland for co-sponsoring the program and making it possible for us to share the information, experience and education we have gathered over the years with people in Ireland, UK and Europe.”

The seminar will be taught by Dr. Joan Fallon (USA), Dr. Lora Tanis (USA) and Dr. Joyce Miller (UK). All three of the instructors are recognized for their expertise and contributions to education and research in chiropractic pediatrics. Drs. Fallon and Tanis are private practitioners in full time practice, and Dr. Miller, with many years of private practice experience behind her, is Senior Clinic Tutor at AECC and oversees one of the largest pediatric clinics in the UK. Between them the instructors have more than 50 years of practice experience in caring primarily for children and pregnant women.

During the two-day program doctors will learn about infantile colic, pediatric orthopedic conditions, autistic spectrum disorders, correct procedures for examination and assessment of infants and toddlers, prenatal care and birth. There will be discussions on the chiropractic approach to common pediatric conditions as well as unusual clinical cases from the practitioners’ clinical files. Techniques for adjusting the infant, toddler and pregnant patient (including breech turning technique) will be taught in workshop format and rotated.

The class will be limited so doctors get the maximum benefit from the seminar and the workshops are more practical. Doctors are advised to register early to reserve their seat. To register call the ICA Pediatrics Council at 703-528-5000 or visit the Council’s website at www.icapediatrics.com for more information and to download the registration form.
