What is Happening with HIPAA?

Ignoring HIPPA will not make it go away!!
 
This full package is newly updated in Feb 2003, many details of HIPAA were clarified early this year.  Material from last fall is no longer current.
 
Every Chiropractor in the country must be prepared and make changes by April 2003. It cannot be avoided.  Some offices will simply do nothing and be in violation.  Others will try to figure it out on their own (yeah right, good luck.)  Most will purchase some type of HIPAA material. Chiropractors have already spent thousands of dollars for other companies' products that claim to make them HIPAA compliant. Besides the money going to companies outside our profession, the material is more oriented to medical practices rather than Chiropractic practices.  If Chiropractors are going to buy a HIPAA product, they should get it from the ICA. 
 
Dr. Gerard Clum, President of Life West, has studied the HIPAA regulations in great detail and this package will provide the Chiropractor with the information and material necessary to meet this Federal Regulation.  By its nature, there is no such thing as a "turn key" HIPAA package, however this is the most thorough package available.  A video of Dr. Clum covers the details.  It walks the Chiropractor through the information in a simple to understand format.  The package is complete with a computer CD of the specific forms needed to customize for their office, as well as an instructional packet including an office checklist to follow.  HIPAA compliance will take special effort from every chiropractic office; those that are unprepared will find this an impossible task.  The risk of being in violation is not worth it.  With this package and some reasonable effort, you can meet this HIPAA requirement.

Package includes a 2 hour and 40 minute VHS videotape presentation done by Dr. Gerard Clum, President of Life Chiropractic College West.  The computer CD is packed full of HIPAA details.  All of the forms you will need are in both Acrobat and MS Word format.  This will allow you to customize the necessary forms and print them on your own computer.  An Instructional Workbook is included.  This workbook contains an overview of the material on the CD as well as the step by step procedure you will need to follow to become a HIPAA compliant chiropractic office.  You can keep all your HIPAA materials right in this workbook
