URGENT CALL TO
ACTION ON CCE CHANGES!
Dear ICA Member:
The International Chiropractors Association has submitted a detailed response to a series of proposed and potential changes in the educational standards of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) that raise very serious concerns on many fronts. Primarily, the controversial proposals on which ICA has commented seek to push chiropractic in more of a medical direction, contrary to ICA's principles, values and vision for this great and unique profession.
ICA's complete letter to the CCE is available by clicking here, and is also available via FAX by calling ICA at 1-800-423-4690.
Chief among ICA's concerns is a proposed requirement to utilize the term "primary care physician" in place of more chiropractic specific terms like doctor of chiropractic or chiropractor. Also, there is a potential standards change that would require CCE accredited colleges to ""include physiotherapy in doctor of chiropractic degree requirements and in the clinical competencies."
In the next few days, you also have the opportunity to add your voice to others from across the nation who oppose these unnecessary and provocative changes. COMMENTS FROM THE PROFESSION ARE DUE BY 5:00 PM, JANUARY 5, 2003. ICA urges you to do so and help keep chiropractic independent, separate and distinct. SUBMIT YOUR COMMENTS VIA FAX TO CCE AT: 480-483-7333.
Please briefly state your feelings regarding these controversial proposals, details of which are available on the Internet at:
